chi-rho

When I visited Nazca, Peru in 1998 I rented an aeroplane for one hour. I was able to shoot photo's of Nazca lines and geoglyphs that I haven't seen anywhere before.
One of the photographs with a kind of structure with 5 hooks has puzzled me ever since I shot this photograph.
Than one day when surfing on the Internet I stumbled across the Chi-rho: the Diagram of Christ. I'm no expert on this matter and I have surfed on the internet to find some history and information on this diagram. I always suspected that the Nazca-lines contained knowledge of the gods and goddesses (the planets), the stars, the sun and moon, and I have found evidence that Halley's Comet has been watched here.

The Chi-Rho emblem: the first Christian Cross

"As a pre-Christian symbol, the Chi-ro signified good fortune. The Chi ro became an important Christian symbol when adopted by the Roman Emperor Constantine, representing the first two letters in the name of Christ- the Chi, or 'ch,' and Rho, or 'r.' According to Church Father Eusebius, on the eve of the Battle of the Milvan Bridge, the Emperor saw the emblem in a dream, with the inscription, "By this sign, you shall conquer." According to the story, the battle was won. In return for the victory, Constantine erected Christian churches. Unfortunately, this story is very unlikely, as Constantine's conversion occured on his deathbed, if at all. In any case, the symbol was the standard of the Emperor's army, prominently displayed on the Emperor's labarum, or battle standard.

Before it became the monogram of Christ, the chi rho was the monogram of Chronos, the god of time, and an emblem of several solar deities.

The Chi-ro is also the origin of the tradition of abbreviating "Christ" in "christian" or "Christmas" to "X."

In Hebrew, Chi-Rho equates to Tav-Resh. The chi rho was used in hermetic alchemical texts to denote time."

Nazca Chi-Rho
I decided to mail a photograph of this geoglyph to Richard Amiel McGough the owner of Biblewheel and this is what he replied:

"Thank you for the fascinating information! As you may have guessed, it will take me some time to evaluate it. I am facinated with the archetypal nature of Christian symbols. For example, the skull and crossbones appear as a sign of death on both the eastern and western hemispheres. This is rather easy to understand since the arrangement of crossed arms beneath the skull could naturally follow from the way a body was buried. But it acquires a deeper significance when seen in the context of the death of Christ on the Cross at the place of the Skull, Golgotha. This significance deepens yet more when it is understood that the final letter of the Hebrew Alphabet - Tav - signifies a mark, sign, or cross. And so it is that Christ declared "it is finished" when he went to His Cross (Tav).
The figure you found does indeed look like the Chi Rho except for the vertical "Rho" seems to terminate at the center rather than extending as far as the other cross bars. I don't think that is a significant variation.
If you discover anything more about this and its meaning, I would be very thankful if you would inform me."

Well if this is the archetype of Chi-Rho, the most primitive form of Chi-Rho ever found on this planet than Nazca might really be the birthplace of time. In fact that is what Nazca means 'to be born' or to be being born'. Richard Amiel McGough wrote to me:

"It looks like the word nazca relates to Latin nascens which means the same thing (being born). This makes sense since Spanish and Latin are closely related. We see it in the English word nascent which also means "being born."

So when did this ancient and primitive cross symbol reach the old world? Who was responsible for shipping Christian symbols and legends to the Greec and the Romans? And when did this happen?
It probably always will remain an unsolved mystery...

Could it be true that the origin of Christian legends and symbolism originate from Peru?

A phoenician text?
The stones on the right side of the Chi-Rho symbol have been recognized by scientiest and historians as an ancient Phoenician text or a relatedOn the photograph the text is written upside down. I have turned the photograph upside down and compaired the text with the stones in the photograph. It is no hoax. The text on the photograph that I took from an airplane is even longer than in the diagram.

Nascodex offers a translation of this, probably 3rd century BC Phoenician(?) writing. It seems to be written by a 'Priest-God' and is probably a dedication instruction exhorting his followers to :

Come, carve (dig) down into the earth,
Pacify, control and increase the waters,
Make them flow forth into the region,
Gaining grace and favour,
Go out among the people,
become strong Leaders.

Isn't is marvelous? A religious text in combination with the Chi-Rho? Can't Nazca be the origin of religion based on longlasting astronomical observations? I think so. The laws of heaven might have been written in Nazca thousands of years BC. And somehow someway wometime it has found it's way into the Mediterranean....

We have to remember the words of Montesinos. He gives a list of 93 (pre)Inca rulers up to the Spanish conquest, we may assume that his work fairly summarizes the historical traditions of the Quichua. The earlier rulers seem to have devoted their attention largely to the elaboration of a calendar, the regulation of religion, and the building up of their kingdom by concessions of land to refugees from various quarters. Almost from the beginning there were established cloistered orders of priests and virgins of the sun.

Montesinos claimes that the use of letters was known in remote antiquity, but for some unknown reason, subsequently lost. In the Nazca desert we can find a message written in one of the oldest written languages of the world...

Trying to read the text
I made a scan of 1600dpi of my photograph, which was made in 1998 before the digital cameras became popular. It find it extremely difficult to distinguish each of the characters that has been written. That is one of the main reasons why I think the translation offered above might not be accurate. I would make more sense to me if the text would include the word: Wiracocha (the Andean creator god).

Thinking...
We all heard about Jezus from Nazareth. But where can we find Nazareth? One would aspect in todays Israel/Palestina but there seems to be no evidence that a city by the name of Nazareth existed in the time of Jezus.
But if we look closer to the word 'Nazareth' this wordt contains two words: Naza reth. 'Reth' means King. This is easy to check on the internet. But Naza. Wat does 'Naza' mean? Look again. Naza-Nazca. Nazca means 'to be born' or 'being born'. So Naz(c)areth probably means: a king is being born or a King is born.

Origin
Nazca might be related to be the origin of the Christ-legend and the Christ (Chi-Rho) symbol.
